New Equipment
Our latest purchase for the
practice is a multi parameter patient monitoring machine. We use this to
monitor your pet's vital signs whilst under an anaesthetic and is being put to
great use by our nurses. The machine is able to monitor ECG (heart beat trace),
oxygen levels, carbon dioxide levels, temperature, pulse rate, heart rate and
respiration rate.
Recently we also purchased a Warm
Touch patient warming system. We use this to wrap the patient in a special
blanket and the machine gently fills the blanket with warm air. This provides a
lovely warm environment during anaesthesia and recovery and helps prevent
hypothermia.
We are also very proud of our
Digital X- Ray Processor. We take x- ray’s of your pet in the normal way using
a standard x- ray machine but then instead of using x- ray film and chemicals,
as in the past, we can now develop the x ray directly on to a computer screen
using the digital technology.
What this means for you and your
pet is much better quality x- ray images, giving us a better image of the bones
and soft tissues and allowing us to see far more detail than on a standard
x-ray film. This makes diagnosis of particular problems quicker and easier.
The best bit is that charges and fee’s for x-rays remain the same!
