Nigel Henderson MVB MRCVS
Role: Veterinary Surgeon
Nigel qualified from Dublin University in 1984 and worked in small animal practice in Rochester before buying this practice in 1987.
Nicola Jackson VN CSQP MBVNA PHC D31/32
Role: Senior Veterinary Nurse, Practice Manager and Pet Health Counsellor
Nicky trained at a large mixed veterinary practice in Maidstone and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1990. She joined the practice in 1991 and is now in charge of the nursing staff and the daily running of the practice.
Nicky is also an NVQ approved assessor and is solely responsible for the training of student veterinary nurses within the practice.
Nicky passed her CSQP exams summer 2006 and is now a Suitably Qualified Person (Companion animal) able to supply and prescribe certain medications direct to clients.
Nicky has many pets at home including 4 dogs, 5 cats, 6 horses and 2 rabbits.
Carly Howard VN CSQP PHC
Role: Veterinary Nurse and Pet Health Counsellor
Carly trained at the Blue Cross animal hospital in London, qualifying as a veterinary nurse in November 1998. She joined this practice in December 2001. Carly is involved in all aspects of general and surgical nursing.
Carly has 1 dog and 1 cat at home.
Lisa Broad RVN CSQP
Role: Registered Veterinary Nurse
Lisa started her training at a small animal practice in the Medway towns. She passed her first year exams and then joined this practice in June 2003. Lisa continued her training with us and qualified as a veterinary nurse in Feb 2006. Lisa is involved with all aspects of general and surgical nursing. Lisa passed her CSQP exams summer 2006 and is now a Suitably Qualified Person (companion animal), able to supply and prescribe certain medications direct to clients. Lisa has 2 cats at home.
Robyn Pratt RVN
Role: Registered Veterinary Nurse
We are delighted to welcome back Robyn as our part time nurse. Robyn worked with us for many years as a student nurse and undertook her 1st year exams. She left us to continue her training elsewhere due to a house move. Now qualified and back in the area, she has rejoined us on a part time basis.
Amy Everden SVN
Role: Student Veterinary Nurse
Amy joined us in December 2005 as the newest member of the team.
Amy has completed and passed the first year of her veterinary nurse training and has just begun training for her second year. Amy has to prove her competence in all aspects of veterinary nursing by completing practical tasks, oral and written questions, log sheets to name but a few. She will have to be assessed by the practice assessor for each task she performs and prove her competence, before being allowed to move forward with her training. We wish her good luck with this.
In the meantime Amy is being fully trained in practice in all aspects of nursing and patient care.
Sandy
Role: Nursing Assistant
Sandy joined us in early 2003, having had previous experience working in a dog-grooming parlour.
Sandy is responsible for assisting the nurses and helping maintain patient care whilst they are hospitalised at the practice.
Sam White
Role: Weekend Nursing Assistant
Sam has been working for the practice as a nursing assistant for a number of years, firstly full time and now at weekends only.
Sam is responsible for assisting the nurses and helping maintain patient care whilst they are hospitalised at the practice.
Sam has 2 cats and 1 dog at home.
